Gingerly comedic

Possible captions:

"Dude, I am totally baked."

"Hey babe, have you done something different with your frosting?"

"I wish you weren't a seasonal treat, cause I would like to eat you all year long."

We're a hot blog

Ok, so this blog is not actually the hot blog I'm talking about.
Chris and I recently posted out 'Top 15 Albums of 2008' on our Whale in a Cubicle blog. (WIAC for short)
...and apparently people looked at it. 694 people that day to be exact. And that was enough to put us as one of the 'Hot Posts' on the music aggregator site ELBO.WS

Unfortunately, we did come in behind the song 'Jizz In My Pants.'
Unfortunate and mostly just awkward.

Our future senators? pt 2

The latest move in my continued and heated feud with the loud Poly Sci kids in the Teaching Assistant lab.
Blocking their door with a heavy oak bookcase actually muffled them quite well (and don't worry, they have a second exit in the building in case of a fire or a need to feel smugly superior to someone else not currently in that room or something like that.)

Tagged?

I've been tagged and I am a man. I hope history notes this important moment.
Typically these things flow from one woman to another.
I am honored to be a tagged man.

That being said I think 'tagging' is stupid.

Anyway, without further ado...

6 quirky things about me:

1. I can't stand to see a milk carton left out on the counter, unused, for even a second. I am careful to prepare everything and then at the last moment, bam, I whip out the milk carton and then promptly put it right back.

2. My journal is illustrated.

3. I actually feel like Iceberg lettuce is unjustly picked on. People can be really snooty about the type of lettuce they serve in a salad and many consider Iceberg lettuce to 'be beneath them.' Wise up people, it has a satisfying crunch, it holds dressing on it like a champ, it doesn't have a weird taste (does it even have a taste?), and its cheap.

4. When I enter a room I typically appraise it quickly and judge where the easiest points of exit are, where I could take cover in case of gunfire or other flying debris, and other potential hazards to myself and others.

5. I've discovered I have windows of opportunity in which to fall asleep, if I miss one of those windows I have to wait until the next one comes by.

6. I dance in the shower.

This is where I would tag people, but I don't really want to. Its not that I'm so against tagging that I just want to see this cycle end with me, I just don't want to tag anyone. Its kind of like me and delegating or assigning things to people, I'd rather just do it myself and not make any trouble for someone else.

Our future senators?

In the Teaching Assistant offices, all of the disciplines within the social sciences share a large common room where we can meet with students and administer tests and quizzes.

The Poly-Sci kids are loud and intolerable. (Somehow this doesn't surprise me)

I heard the following words used over and over again during one conversation:

Chick
Ugly chick
Fugly chick
Dudemeister (not said in jest)
Hottie chick
Smokin' hot babe

So I left them the following note:

Uncomfortable

So Chris and I have been doing our joint-music blog whale in a cubicle for nearly a year now and we've been seeing some pretty great success.
We started WIAC with the thought that we talk about music with just about everyone we know, so why not start a blog and try to share it with more than just the people we know........and if people/musicians feel like they want to send us music to listen to, well that would just be great.

We've been receiving music from various record companies and promotional agencies for a while now and apparently they are still unaware that Chris and I are not brothers (or worse!).

Keep them coming

These aren't my wedding announcements.
Don't freak out.
Furthest thing from my mind really.

Its just about time I shared these.

The outside:
(Yes, those are embossed pictures of the temple and a unicorn)

The inside:
(Apparently they got tired of rhyming after the first few lines and proceeded to finish the announcement in regular ol' prose.)

This next announcement came to Chris' fiance Kristin "on the wings of an angel" as she so eloquently puts it. (No one in her apartment knows either half of the couple.)
Besides the customary awkward engagement photos that are so common amongst the BYU crowd, the announcement also included this 'gem' so lovingly penned by the groom himself.

Wow.
I mean...........wow.

However, I should say to all of you out there planing on including poems, unicorns, teddy bears, and awkward kissing pictures in their wedding announcements: Please don't stop.
You've provided us with countless hours (ya, hours) of entertainment.
If it makes you feel better, just think that maybe we're just jealous that you've found someone so perfect for you. I mean if you've found a woman that allows you to put a sappy poem in your announcement (one that will be sent to every person she knows!) she is one in a million.
